A note from Big Dummy...

You may notice that the prices for Mud & More have gone up substantially from last year.  I spoke with a couple of the guys from Mud & More, and they informed me that the city was very reluctant to issue them the required use permits for the events.  They imposed a number of new requirements such as hiring off-duty police officers in the security staff, oiling down the road into the event, and within the event to prevent dust, as well as limiting the age of campers and requiring a 1,000,000 liability policy.  All of these new restrictions raised the cost of the event, which unfortunately must be passed on to us, the wheeling public.

I do take some exception to the way that they raised prices.  Primarily that they only raised prices for participants, and not for spectators.  Also their price schedule is exceptionally confusing.  They should boil it all down to a flat rate.  Then you won't get the problem of their total not matching your total.

Despite those problems, they have expanded the event this year, and Petersen's will be on site for the May run again as well.
