Mid-Missouri Off-Roaders
1999 MUD BOG RULES
All vehicles must be 4-wheel drive
- All drivers must possess a valid driver’s license. Drivers under the age of 18 must have written, on sight permission from parent or legal guardian.
- All drivers must sign a waiver.
- All drivers must wear a helmet and seatbelt. In classes 4-7, the driver must wear a shoulder belt. (A 1-time exemption will be granted per year). Drivers of alcohol burners or vehicles using Nitrous Oxide must wear a firesuit.
- All vehicles must pass an on sight tech and safety inspection prior to registration. If at any time after the initial inspection, a vehicle is found to be illegal for any class in which it is entered, that vehicle will be disqualified for the remainder of the event.
- All vehicles must be equipped with a rollbar or hardtop (steel in classes 4-7).
- No tire chains or track vehicles.
- Vehicles equipped with superchargers and/or running Nitrous Oxide must have scatter blankets or shields around the gearbox. Blowers must have limiting straps.
- General Registration will end one hour before scheduled starting time.
- Late entries start one hour before scheduled starting time. Registration and Tech will close 30 minutes before starting time.
- Entry will be $15 per class. Vehicles may run only once per class.
- Late entries will pay an additional $5 per class and run 1st.
- No refunds will be given after a class starts.
- Disqualification line is 75 feet beyond the finish line.
- All vehicles making a full pass must come to a complete stop in the shut down area and may not move either forward or backward until clearly signaled to do so by the red flagman. Leaving the shut down area or backing away from the disqualification line without being cleared by the red flagman will result in disqualification.
- Payback will be 100% of entry fees. (1st = 40%, 2nd = 30%, 3rd = 20%, 4th = 10%). In the event that fewer than 4 legal runs are made; all remaining prize money will go to the first place driver. Sponsoring towns are encouraged to raise additional prize money for classes (6) and (7) to help draw faster racers.
- In the event of a tie, the tying drivers will split prize money for that place and the next lower place. All entrants below that place will be moved one place farther down in the standings. If trophies are awarded, the tying drivers will have a coin toss to decide which driver will be awarded the larger trophy.
- All prize money should be collected no later than 30 minutes after class 7 is over. If money is not picked up, it will be forfeited back to the club.
- The Mid-Missouri Off-Roaders will officiate and may refuse any driver that appears intoxicated and/or any vehicle that is modified or operated in an unsafe manner.
- The red flagman will be the head official at trackside and will make all decisions on trackside controversies. Only past or present officers or board members are to be red flagmen.
- Vehicles that come out of the side of the pit will be disqualified. Vehicles that get stuck within the pit will be measured at the furthest hub.
- Time starts with the very first detected movement of the race vehicle. Time will stop with the waving of the red flag.
- No alcoholic beverages will be allowed at trackside.
- Points will be accumulated at Mid-Missouri Off-Roaders’ sanctioned events to determine class champions for the season. Prize money for point’s champions will be distributed at the Mid-Missouri Off-Roaders Christmas party. Point’s money will be distributed to the top 5 drivers in each class. A one time $15 fee per class will be assessed to all drivers who want to be eligible for points. Membership in the Mid-Missouri Off-Roaders is not required for those wishing to participate in the point’s series.
- A kill-switch cable will be provided to all persons wishing to use it.
- The kill-switch cable is required to be hooked up to all vehicles using any of the following: Supercharger, Turbocharger, Nitrous Oxide, Modified D.O.T. tires, Paddle tires.
- If the kill-switch cable unplugs prior to the finish line, the vehicle will be returned to the starting line for a second pass. The driver will have 2 minutes to correct the problem and re-enter the pit. No 3rd chances will be given.
- Vehicles that continue to run after being unplugged will be disqualified.
- There will be no exhibition runs during the sanctioned event. All costs associated with exhibition runs will be the responsibility of the sponsoring town or organization. The Mid-Missouri Off-Roaders will provide no workers or equipment for any exhibition runs, with the exception of the optional "Unlimited Cut and Paddle Tire" class.
- All members of the Mid-Missouri Off-Roaders must sign up to work at least one class before they are allowed to register. This rule will not take effect if the sign-up sheet is full.
- Any protest of a run must take place no later than 10 minutes after the completion of the class in which the protested run took place. The protest committee will consist of the tech chairman, club president, and red flagman for that particular class. A fee of $25 will be assessed for all protests. In the event that the protested run or vehicle is found to be legal, the $25 will be donated to a charity of the club’s choice. If the vehicle or run is determined to be illegal, the $25 will be refunded to the individual who presents the protest. Protests must come from drivers within that class only.
- The Mid-Missouri Off-Roaders will enforce a "no tolerance" rule pertaining to disputes with race officials. If an official is put into an argumentative situation, the person arguing with the official will be asked to leave the premises immediately. No threats will be tolerated.
